Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for Combined Geo-Scientist Prelims Exam 2020 on its official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates those who are willing to apply for the examination should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria required for appearing in the examination

The last date of submitting the online application will be 15 October 2019

The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist exam has 79 vacancies for the post of Geologist (Group A), five vacancies for Geophysicist (Group A), 15 posts for Chemist (Group A) and three posts for Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B, Group A)

UPSC Recruitment 2019 Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification: 

Geologist, Group A: Master's degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resources Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University.
Geophysicist, Group A: M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a University.
Chemist Group A: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University.
Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group A: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University.

Step 1: Visit the official website – upsc.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the option that says 'View all' under the section 'What's new' on the homepage

Step 3: A new page will appear on the screen

Step 4: Click on the option that says 'Exam Notification: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2020'

Step 5: On the next page click on the option 'Online Application for Various examinations of UPSC'.



Application Fee for UPSC ESE 2020

General - Rs. 200/‐
Female/SC/ST/PwBD – No Fee

Candidates can start submitting their online application from 25 September 2019. The last date of submitting the online application will be 15 October 2019. Release date of admit card and examination date will be announced soon.

Those recruited by the UPSC will be working under the Central Government for various posts in different ministries and departments, including in the subordinate offices. The Commission also conducts examinations for the recruiting staff in various state departments.

LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
(I) The Online Applications can be filled up to 15th October, 2019 till 06:00 P.M.
(II) The online Applications can be withdrawn from 22.10.2019 to 28.10.2019 till 06:00 P.M.
Admit Card Date: to be communicated soon
Exam Date: will be held on 27th & 28th June, 2020.
