What is the Application Fee:

Candidates who register for AFCAT entrance must pay a sum of Rs. 250 as an examination fee for the AFCAT 2 2023 exam.

Salary Details:

1. Cadets in their last year of training would get a stipend of Rs. 56,100. A

2. Young Air Officers will get level 10 in the pay matrix of the seventh Central Pay Commission [56100-1,10,700] after successfully completing training.

3. There will also be a $15,500 military service pay component.

Additional Compensation

1. Flying Branch costs Rs. 11,250 monthly.

2. Monthly salary for Technical Branch Officers: Rs. 2500.

Other benefits, such TA, DA, Children Education Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, etc., are also available to these officials.

The qualifying requirements for Ground Duty and Flying Branch positions under AFCAT 2 2023 are shown below.

(A)Age Restrictions for AFCAT (as of 01/07/2024)

(i) Flying Branch: The minimum applicant age for the flying branch is 20, and the maximum applicant age is 24. Candidates who currently have a Commercial Pilot License granted by the DGCA (India) may have their maximum age restriction relaxed up to 26 years.

(ii)Technical and non-technical ground duty branches The minimum age requirement for ground duty is 20 years old, while the maximum age is 26 years old.

Note: At the start of the course, candidates who are younger than 25 must not be married. under-age 25 widows, widowers, and divorcees (with or without encumbrances)

(B) AFCAT Education Requirement:

Flying branch: A minimum of 50% in both physics and maths at the 10+2 level, together with a three-year degree in graduation, OR a minimum of 60% in a BE/BTech degree from an accredited university.

AFCAT 2023 Ground Duty (Technical) Branch Eligibility Requirements:

(i)Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)): A degree in graduation or post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognised university, as well as a minimum of 60% in both physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level.

What is the Selection Process:

All applicants who pass the AFCAT 2 2023 will receive call letters from the Indian Air Force instructing them to present at the AFSB Testing, the next stage of the selection process.

AFSB Stage 1 Testing

It contains the next two tests:

Test of Officer Intelligence.

Candidates who do not pass the first stage of the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT) will be disqualified and not be summoned for the second stage of the AFSB Testing.

AFSB Stage 2 Testing:

The following tests must be taken by all Stage 1 qualifying applicants during AFSB Stage 2:

Written psychological exams are administered in this category by licensed psychologists.

Group exams: These tests put applicants through mental and physical challenges in order to assess them on a variety of mental and physical criteria.

AFSB Interview: The interviewing officer conducts a series of one-on-one interviews with the candidate during this round.

Only those applicants who have applied for the Flying Branch must take the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test.

The Medical Exam:

The medical exam will be scheduled for recommended individuals. The Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru and the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME) are the only two medical examination facilities that the Indian Air Force has recommended. Following the medical examination, a final merit list will be created based on the candidate's performance in the written test and the AFSB interview. How to Apply for the AFCAT 2 Exam in 2023 :

Step 1: Registration

1. Open the official website or click on the link below.

2. There will be a new page. All new users must first register.

3. Select Register as a New User.

4. A new page will open where you may register yourself by entering your email and cellphone number.

5. After receiving an OTP on your email and cellphone number, fill it out and press the "Submit" button.

6. Your registered email address and cellphone number will get a login ID and password.

Step 2: log in

1. Use your registration number and password to log in. Pick the position.

2. Depending on the candidate's educational background, fill out additional information such as educational qualifications, etc.

3. When necessary, pay the examination cost online using a credit/debit card or internet banking.

4. Candidates must provide a scanned copy of their colour photo and their signature (written in Hindi or English) in JPEG format.

5. Log in with your Registration Number and Password at the "UPLOAD" link, then upload the document or scanned form,

6. Upload each of the necessary certifications.

AFCAT 2022 Recruitment Notification for 258 Vacancies: AFCAT 2022 online application process is being conducted from 1st to 30th December 2022. Indian Air Force (IAF) will conduct AFCAT 2022 Exam for the recruitment of 258 vacancies under Group-A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. 

IAF has invited the applications from eligible candidates including Indian citizens both Men & Women for the courses commencing in January 2023 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Important Details:

Flying Branch: Aspirants must have qualified 10+2 with 60% in Maths and Physics and graduated in any discipline BE/BTech/Cleared section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) (AE (L)): Aspirants must have completed 10+2 with 60% in Physics and Mathematics and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology from a recognised university. Or, Cleared sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60% in the following disciplines:

LLB qualified and integrated/dual degree candidates may get an opportunity to be employed on the legal duties of the IAF (after commissioning)
