Educational Qualification:
- Metallurgical/ Material Science Engineering: The candidate must possess B.E./B.Tech degree with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering and a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./ M.Tech with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/ Materials Science and Engineering (and first class B.E/B.Tech in the same subject).
- Mechanical Engineering: The candidate must have B.E./B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class with a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./M.Tech with First class in Mechatronics / Robotics & Automation and B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First class.
How To Apply for DRDO JRF Recruitment 2022:
- Eligible candidates shall email the duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of degree certificates, GATE score card, caste certificate and other applicable proofs (in a single pdf file, not exceeding 10 MB) to jrfsm2022@gmail.com within 21 days from the date of publication in the Employment News. Fellowship Emoluments:
- Rs. 31,000/- per month for JRF with applicable H.R.A. and other emoluments as per DRDO rules.
Age Limit:
- The age limit for JRF is maximum of 28 years as on the date of application.
- The age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates or as per the government guidelines.
- A copy of self-attested caste certificate should be attached with the application.
GUIDELINES FOR CANDIDATES:
1) Upper Age Limit: 35 years for RA & 28 years for JRF as on closing date ofapplication. Upper age limit is relaxable to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBC as per government of Indiaorders.
2) Stipend (monthly) and tenure (RA): Stipend for RA Rs. 54,000/- permonth (HRA as admissible as per rule) for a maximum period of two years only (No extension is in respect of RA).
3) Stipend (monthly) and tenure (JRF): Stipend for JRF Rs. 31,000/- permonth (HRA as admissible as per rule) for a maximum period of two years (extendable as per rules for JRF, subject to satisfactory performance to be assessed by a committee).
4)On closing date of application Qualification for the above post will be determined.

From ‘What’s New’ column Candidates should download form and all the Application Form in the prescribed format (available on the website www.drdo.gov.in). The signed Application Form along with certificate in support of minimum educational qualification, matriculation certificate/birth certificate in support of date of birth, GATE/NET Score card (if applicable), valid as on closing date of application, NOC (Wherever applicable) & caste certificate (if applicable) should be scanned in a single PDF le and emailed to hrd@chess.drdo.in and cc to h r d.chess@gov.in before the closing date. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES:
1) Candidates are not supossed to apply who are not meeting the above mentioned qualifications.
2) As per the policy and rules in vogue in DRDO, MoD, GoI Research Fellowship (RA and JRF).
3) At the time of joining Antecedents of selected candidates will be verified since documents verification process cannot be followed in the online interviews. All shortlisting, award of RA / JRF positions etc. would be provisional subject to verification of all relevant original documents. The candidates would automatically stand cancelled any time, In case of any deficiency of any type in the documents.
4)Candidates should possess ‘No Objection Certicate’ who are working in Govt/Public sector undertaking/Autonomous Bodies. Candidates shall be required to submit relieving order from their employer if RA/JRF awarded before joining.
5) Screening of the applications will be carried out and through web based video conference over internet the shortlisted candidates will have interviewed , and beforehand the URL link via email the date and time of an online interview will be intimated . Therefore, the candidates should possess an active email ID and check the same periodically till the for award & fellowship process is completed. Communication for interview will be recieved only by the shortlisted candidates.
6) Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of candidature.
7) Candidates must ensure the Web Cam, Internet Connectivity & necessary software’s at their level to attend the online interview (through Video Conferencing). CHESS, Hyderabad shall not be responsible for any connectivity failure or communication faults in the online interview.
8) Candidates will have to mention the position and subject for which he/she appears/applied.
9) Oer of fellowship shall not be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. The award of Research Fellowship shall be entirely at the discretion of the Laboratory. if suitable candidates are not available, the lab will not oer any Research fellowship cany candidate without assigning any reason thereof.
