To address crime against women, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has inaugurated Disha police station at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district followed by Disha mobile app to help women in distress, and demonstrated how women can send SOS the app which will alert the nearest police patrolling vehicle.
State Minister for Home and Disaster Management Mekathoti Sucharitha took to Twitter to appreciate the state government’s effort to walk the talk on women’ safety and their empowerment. She added that women in the state can now live without fear.It is the first of the 18 Disha police stations promised under the Disha Act to fast-track the trials of crime against women. The state witnessed the first Disha police station set up within three months of passing the new law, the remaining police stations will be set up by the end of the month, the CM said.
On Android and iOS platforms the 'Direction SOS' app has been released. Internet is only required for first time download once the app is installed No internet required to use the app. After downloading this app you will need to login with your mobile number. Your personal information, such as emergency contacts, needs to be updated. All you have to do is open the app and press the SOS button when you are in danger. If you do not have time to open the app and press the SOS button, just push the phone hard.

Then the location control room receives information about where you are. Not only locating the place of yours ,a 10 second video of your location will also go to the command room. Based on your location. the information will go to the nearest police patrol vehicles and police stations .Police patrol vehicles will reach your area via GPS. Information also goes to the numbers of your friends and family who are in your emergency contact when you are in danger
Process to Use the App in need
First open the App there will be a button to call 100 or 112 directly along with the SOS button.
You can call 100 directly.
Or give a missed call to 112.
The app now has a Track My Travel option.
When traveling in a cab or auto. you must enter your destination
If the vehicle is going in a different route the information will immediately go to the control room as well as your family members.
