AGE LIMITATION / AGE RELAXATION
1 Project Officer / Project Engineer: The maximum age for unreserved/EWS categories is 28 years as of October 5, 2023.
2 The maximum age limit is reduced by 05 years for SC and ST applicants, 03 years for OBC-NCL candidates, 05 years for PwBD (UR) candidates, 08 years for PwBD (OBC-NCL) candidates, and 10 years for PwBD (SC/ST) candidates.
3 Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers (including ECOs / SSCOs) are eligible for a 05-year age relaxation, subject to completing a minimum of 05 years of service in the Armed Forces and meeting other restrictions imposed by the Government of India.
4 On production of a domicile certificate, the maximum age restriction is lowered by 05 years for applicants who were usually domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989.
JOB SPECIFICATION(s) / QUALIFICATION PERCENTAGE RELAXATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Qualification Percentage Relaxation: Second Class (55%), as per Presidential Directives, for SC/ST applicants and PwBD candidates.
2 Experience: The Project Engineer /
Project Officer must have at least one year of post-qualification experience.
3 Experience in the appropriate Industry / Office should come after the Essential Qualification(s).
4 One year of completed Apprenticeship training for Project Engineers and one year of completed Management Industrial Trainee training in Finance / Human Resource / Marketing disciplines for Project Officers would be accepted as Experience.
5 Academic/teaching/internship/project work experience will NOT be accepted.
6 The Experience Certificate / Last Pay Slip / Offer of Appointment / Provident Fund Statement / ESI Membership / Salary Account Bank Statement, etc. shall be used to confirm the number of years of employment.
Salary Proof Document: Salary received Bank Statement / PF Statement / ESI Statements and Latest Pay Slip(s) confirming monthly salary credited must be submitted invariably otherwise their candidature will not be accepted for further selection process (Interview).
8 Experience / Apprenticeship in relevant Defence Labs / Industries (with consideration given to those connected with relevant weapon system development)
RESERVATIONS, CONCESSIONS AND RELAXATIONS
1 Reservation of posts for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and PwBD (Persons with Benchmarked Disabilities – with degree of disability 40% or above) are as per Government Directives.
2 Candidates seeking reservation as SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS will have to submit caste certificate “ONLY in the Prescribed Proforma” meant for appointment to posts under the Government of India from the designated authority indicating clearly the candidate’s caste, the Act / Order under which the category is recognized as SC/ST/ OBC (NCL) / EWS.
3 If the SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / EWS / PwBD certificate has been issued in a language other than English / Hindi, the candidates will be required to submit a self-certified translated copy of the same in either English or Hindi.
4 Candidates must note that BDL follows only Central Government list and not State Governments list for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) / EWS. Similarly, candidates applying under Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category may note that Government of India rules will be applicable for any concession in this regard.
5 Relaxations / Reservation / Concession as applicable to SC / ST / OBCs (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS / PwBD candidates will be extended only on submission of a self-attested copy of valid Caste / Community /Disability Certificate as a proof of his / her claim. An application form without copy of valid certificates in prescribed format will be rejected.
6 For getting the reservation benefits under OBC category, candidates need to furnish their OBC – NON-CREAMY LAYER (NCL) certificate as per the format prescribed by Government of India. OBC category candidate who
does not belong to “NON-CREAMY LAYER” are not entitled for OBC concessions and such candidates should indicate their category as “GENERAL” and will be considered under UR category.
7 For getting the reservation benefits under EWS category, candidates need to furnish their latest EWS certificate in the format as per DoPT Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019 – Estt (Res) dated 31/01/2019 or subsequent amendment(s), if any.
8 Disability should not be less than 40% for the categories wherever PwBD reserved posts. A person, who wants to avail the benefit of relaxation, will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by a Competent Authority as per the form V, VI and VII of Rule 18(1) under Chapter 7 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 dated 15.06.2017. The existing certificates of disability issued under the Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 (since repealed) shall continue to be valid for the period specified therein.
EMPLOYMENT TENURE
1 The Project Engineer / Project Officer will be hired on a Fixed Term (Contract) Basis for a term of ONE YEAR, which may be extended up to a maximum of FOUR YEARS (including the original period), based on organisational needs and individual performance.
REMUNERATION
Consolidated Remuneration per month for r month: Project Engineer / Project Officer
1st Year : Rs. 30,000/-2nd Year : Rs. 33,000/-
3rd Year : Rs. 36,000/-
4th Year : Rs. 39,000/-
In addition to the consolidated compensation for Project Engineers/Project Officers, Rs.10,000/- per year would be provided for expenditures such as medical insurance premium, outfit allowance, stitching charges, footwear allowance, and so on. The abovementioned sum will be paid in two installments, the first of which will be processed in the first month's salary after joining, and the second of which will be paid after 11 months from the date of joining.
SELECTION PROCESS / PROCEDURE
Candidates should meet the Qualifying criteria as specified in the advertisement for their online application to be accepted.
Only relevant experience will be considered. The decision of the Selection Committee, with respect to relevance of Experience will be final. Work experience indicated without supporting documents, will not be considered.
3 Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:10 based on the number of years of experience in the relevant area in requisite Industry / Office. The name of candidates shortlisted for interview will be displayed on company’s website.
4 List of Shortlisted Candidates for the Interview along with date of Interview will be hosted on BDL Website on 05-07-2023 (1600 Hrs.). Shortlisted candidates will be required to download the Interview call letter from BDL website (https://www.bdl-india.in > Careers> List of Shortlisted Candidates for Interview for the post of PE(s) / PO(s)) from 05-07-2023 (1600 Hrs.) onwards. Please note that, no separate letter / E-mail / communication will be sent to the applicants.
6.5 Request for change of Interview date / venue will NOT be entertained under any circumstances.

6.8 Selection will be based on order of merit, when two or more candidates secure equal marks, they will be empaneled
in the chronological order of their Date of Birth, the eldest being placed first among them. In case, Date of Birth
is also same, then the marks scored in Interview will be the basis for merit list.

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. The above-mentioned age, qualification, and experience should be as of 10.05.2023.
2 During the certificate verification process, candidates must produce documents pertaining to Experience Certificate (as applicable) and Salaried Account Statement (for the number of years of experience) / PF Statement, as well as two recent colour passport size photographs.
3 Candidates who appear for INTERVIEWS will not be eligible to apply for contract employment for the aforementioned position.Candidates will be disqualified from the start of the recruiting process if they do not meet the eligibility requirements.
